Fatal truck accident kills South Carolina teen

When a car collides with another vehicle, a cacophony of loud and sinister sounds usually follows. The sounds of broken glass and tires screeching can strike fear and panic to most witnesses. Many South Carolina residents have experienced this first hand and can relate to how quickly the human heart can beat after being involved in an accident. Car accidents are not a pleasant experience in the slightest, especially when serious injuries or death is involved.

For every driver, it is absolutely prudent that they follow all traffic rules and pay attention to the road. One reckless mistake can cause irrevocable damage and a lifetime of guilt. Each year drunk driving and distracted driving claim the lives of many innocent passengers and other drivers across the nation. A South Carolina teen was recently killed after the driver of his car made a terrible mistake.

The driver was attempting to make a left turn but failed to yield to a log truck that had the right away. When the driver turned in front of the log truck, it collided with the car's front passenger door killing the 16-year-old sitting in the front passenger seat. The truck accident is still under investigation by police. No charges have been filed at this time.

Mistakes happen repeatedly throughout the day but when they occur on the road, heavy consequences can follow. Every driver is responsible for their passengers. If a passenger is killed or suffers serious injuries, the driver of the vehicle may be responsible. Negligent driving is a contributing factor to the cause of most car accidents.

South Carolina residents that have suffered an injury or lost a loved one from a truck accident may find that they qualify for compensation depending on the situation. An attorney may provide further advice and guidance to those that require legal attention.
